Using Bluetooth Barcode Scanner with the app

In addition to using the device's camera as barcode scanner, the you can integrate Bluetooth barcode scanners into TapStyle apps (TapStyle, TapNail, TapGroom, TapBiz, TapPOS).

■ Supported Barcode Scanner

Most of the barcode scanner which can connect to phone / device via Bluetooth will work with TapStyle apps.

• iOS
  Please make sure that the scanner has the feature of 'show/hide the on screen software keyboard'. Otherwise, when the device is connected to barcode scanner, you can not type any text on screeen using the on-screen keyboard.
  
  Many of the barcode scanner has that feature. Please check the manual of the barcode scanner ( which can be downloaded from manifacture's home page) to seekj the features like below.

• Android
  

  Both barcode scanner and software on-screen keyboard can be worked together by default on Android devices. If it doesn't, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Open Settings in your device
  2. Select System > Language and Input
  3. Select Physical Keyboard
  4. Toggle "Use n-screen keyboard" to the on position

■ Test the connected barcode scanner

Navigate to Setting > General > Barcode Scanner, then please make sure it will show "Success" or "OK" on scanning the test barcode on the screen.

■ Use the Barcode Scanner

On the TapStyle apps, you can use the barcode scanner on the Home > Settings > Goods / Inventory Management and Home > Checkout.

• Goods / Inventory management
  Tap the 'Scanner' button and scan the barcode, if it is a registered barcode, the product with the scanned barcode will be set for edit.  If the product is not registered, the scanned barcode string will be shown in the "Barcode" field.
  
  
  
  
• Checkout
  When you click the "Scanner" button and scan the barcode on "Checkout", the target product will be added to the payment list. Repeated scanning of the same barcode will increase the "Quantity" of the item.
